I came across this quotation from American author and mathematician John Allen Paulos, written in 2003 before the financial crisis and long before the advent of the current pandemic. 

How much have we learned about uncertainty and insecurity since 2003?

We have had a lot of discussions about how we encourage the use of the forecasting tools in Paprika. As we all know, putting something in a forecast does not make it happen but it will provide an idea of what to expect in the future and help making better decisions.

Certainly Paprika has changed from reporting what has happened to giving greater certainty to the present and a means of living with the uncertainty of the future. Without consciously realising it, this is where we are increasingly turning our attention.
